Having a job on campus provides students with valuable work experience that helps build their professional expertise and prepares them for life after Wittenberg. On campus student employment is also uniquely positioned to help students adjust to college life and make campus connections by providing flexible schedules and an opportunity to get to know faculty, staff, and other students outside of the classroom.

Who can work on campus?
Everyone! You do not need a work study award to get a job on campus.
How do I find a job?
Visit the Job Opportunities page for a link to our employment platform and instructions on how to search for positions and schedule appointments in our office.
If I apply for a position, when can I expect to hear back about the position?
The later part of the summer and the beginning of the academic year are the busiest times. Please try to be patient. A good rule of thumb is to wait 1-2 weeks before trying to reach out to the hiring department. Students should contact Student Employment with any questions and concerns – careers@laolitaohuo.com
How and when do I get paid?
Once you’ve been hired in Handshake, you will be contacted by Student Employment to complete your tax forms. Tax forms MUST be completed prior to working any Student Employment shifts!
Once tax paperwork is completed, Student Employment will approve students to begin working. All students with an on-campus job will have to report their time electronically on Self Service. Self Service timecards will be set up after tax paperwork is confirmed or has been completed. Students report their time monthly and will be paid on the 15th of every month for hours worked the previous month. Students will be required to select their payment preferences upon being hired into a position.
How many hours may I work?
Students are allowed to work up to 18 hours per work week during the academic year and up to 37.5 hours during the summer, winter break, and spring break.
What if I get into a job and I decide that do not want to work in that position?
Notify your supervisor in writing that you are resigning from your position. They will contact Student Employment with updates.
